About Yarrow CC
Sometimes considered a weed, yarrow symbolizes healing, health, love and insight. Western myths speak of using yarrow to heal soldiers on the battlefield and Eastern ideologies speak of slowing the energy within the body to mitigate the impact of wounds.
This tiny, beautiful weed speaks to my joy in finding beauty in what others consider small and insignificant and healing through compassion and shared knowledge.
My approach is compassion focused balanced with psychoeducation. Psychoeducation is important as it empowers you to better understand your mind and body and engage fully in our process. I use a trauma informed approach to create feelings of safety in order to guide your healing and support your empowerment. My work with you is person-centered, in that your goals and experience is essential to our process. I believe deeply that as someone attending therapy, you are doing "the work" and I am guiding and witnessing.
Approaches I may use with you include: Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC), Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Art Therapy, Gottman Method for couples, Integrative Behavioral Couples Therapy (IBCT), Rogerian (person-centered), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT)
